Angus Lambkin with the Irish Aid Rapid Response Corps - a UN Standby Mission gave a talk entitled: ‘How to protect in this crazy world? UN Peacekeeping - Addressing Sexual Violence in the DRC’ on Wednesday 11 February 2015 in the Parish Hall, St George’s Church, Belfast.
Angus Lambkin is a standby UN Expert on Mission awaiting deployment to complex emergencies. His most recent deployment was with the UN Stabilization Mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo as a civilian peacekeeper. He has worked on development, humanitarian and conflict resolution issues in Asia, Africa and Europe.
Angus is from Belfast, was a student at Bunscoil Phobail Feirste and Lagan College and holds Masters degrees from the University of Edinburgh and the Humanitarian Aid Studies Centre in Spain.
Angus was welcomed to the evening by Revd Brian Stewart, Rector of St George's Parish and members of St George's Mothers' Union kindly provided refreshments after the talk. The photograph, taken by Kevin Cooper, shows Angus in action!
